Tea Stick Bamboo, Pseudosasa amabilis
Bamboo flowers rarely and for many species this is a once in a century event or more. Consequently, seed is largely unavailable.
To grow more bamboo, the same clone is continuously divided up and spread around.
Bizarrely, when a bamboo species flowers, it does so in unison world wide. And once a bamboo flowers it usually dies. A clue to deciding where a species of bamboo originated is that, in this particular place, not all of the same species flower at the same time.
